Letter from President Skip Davidson

October 2024

Hello my friends and fellow shooters,

It is the time of year again when the weather is changing and we are turning toward the end of the year and our annual meeting, which will be Sunday, December 8th at 1:30 pm. Lunch will be provided beginning at 1:00 pm

I want to let you know that our club continues to do well. We are on track to throw 600,000 targets this year, about 10% more than our record year in 2023.

Financially, we are in good shape and during the year, we have continued to invest in your club. We completed installing the sporting clays stations, put a new roof on the clubhouse, and repaired/enhanced several of the skeet houses and the sporting clays towers

It seems as if the front gate is rarely closed – open because you are taking advantage of being able to shoot anytime during the day. It is fantastic to see our club being used so often. This includes our youth groups – Grace, The Dust Devils, 4-H, Warsaw Public Schools, Pheasants Forever youth, etc. etc. These programs continue to experience record numbers and are still growing

A question that we get over and over is, “Why is your membership only $75?”. We have discussed an increase for years and believe that it has been over a decade since our last one. Therefore, in 2025, our membership rates will go up to $125 per family. For anyone who pays their membership before the end of 2024, the cost for 2025 will be $75. I don’t have the space in this letter to discuss all of the benefits of membership but there is a printout at KOSKO of the benefits for anyone to read and have

If you haven’t noticed, the battery shed is gone. In a partnership with the Grace Shooting Club, KOSKO has received a range development grant from the Midway USA Foundation to install a permanent 5- stand building. This includes a year-round building to shoot from and purchasing a number of new machines. Construction should begin soon with an anticipated grand opening this spring. During construction, our current 5-stand field will remain open…..shoot away!!

You might have noticed that we have signs up that are requesting desk workers. We need a number of volunteers for one day a month to fill a number of open positions. In addition, in the new year, Jim and Eric will no longer be available to work on Wednesday afternoons. We want to thank both for years/decades of service. With this change, we will no longer be open to the public on Wednesday afternoons. Instead, we will open twice a month on Thursdays (2nd and 4th) from Noon until 6 pm for the sale of tokens and targets. This is also a time that we will request volunteer help and coordinate cleanup and maintenance of our building and grounds

Once again, thank you for your continued support. If you have any questions or comments, please reach out to me at (574) 930-0612.

Thanks – Skip
